Hello all. Id like to say I appreciate this forum as it has answered many questions for me in the past and offered some good reading.

I do have a question today concerning a Norstar
System man. date 07/01.
SN#NNTM84S5SSQM (S's could be 5's)
it has A 4X8 and a growth upgrade.

I recently cut over their service from one provider to another. Unknown to their home office who arranged the change was that they relied on the provider for Voice Mail. Once the provider changed the VM went away. I am not familiar with Norstar and the bosses are fairly upset with the IT guy who arranged the change.
Is there any way to tell me from the info above whether this system came equiped with a VM card?
We will partner with a Nortel reseller to add it if they decide to but they do not want to pay another vendor to check the system. They have never used nortels VM in the 9 years they had it so my guess is no. Can this be confirmed with out a site vist? I called Nortel and they could not tell me.

thanks

rob

welcome
Norstar voice mail is an external box. If there is only the KSU on the wall there is no voice mail.

To know what kind of voice mail is compatible I would need to know the software version. You will find it printed on the pcmcia card plugged into the unit. Or better stil you can post the SP number which is found in the programing section maintenance > version.

Partnering with a knowledgeable technician is the best idea.
