So every once in a while like say couple times a week, our entire phone system goes offline and is off for approximately 2 minutes.

The system then reboots itself, and all the phones reset to normal.

MCIS 5.0, using Norstar M7100 phones and / c3060 companion phones.

Then the time goes off by 2 minutes.

Thoughts on why this is happening?

First of all - since the clock is off by two minutes, that means no power to system for two min.
Things to check:
Janitor unplugs sys to vacuum for 2 min.
Sys is on outlet controlled by wall switch.
Power plug ready to fall out - push in fully.
If on UPS - check it out.

OR - Fix power supply.

Thanks NT smile

Confirmed: Janitor/Wall Switch Theory.

I'm sure it's the UPS, had it there for a LONG Time.

You can always check out the UPS by doing this.

Plug in a Digital Clock into the UPS.
If you have a second clock plug it into the SAME outlet the UPS is plugged into.

If the clock is Flashing 12:00 on the UPS then you know the UPS went out.
If the clock is Flashing 12:00 in the OUTLET, then you know you lost power to the UPS.

If they are BOTH flashing then either the UPS batteries didn't hold up very long, OR you had a LONG power outage that drained the batteries.
