Customer has an old Startalk voice mail that is no longer fucntioning. They press feature 981 and it does not take them to voice mail. They try to transfer callers to voice mail and it transfers to dead air. The auto attendant does not answer either.
Does their voice mail need to be re-initialized? Reset? Thrown away?
I'll be at their site in two days to check it out.

If you can't do a F985, I'd reboot 1st. If after 10 minutes or so you still can't do a F985 and see the VM port, it sounds like the hard drive is finished.

Sometimes with the Startalk after a reboot, you can do F**XFTEST to see if any codes are there and active and see if any feature codes respond. Also try F903 to chsck the codes.

I reset the vm system. we are trying feature 983 and it asks for a password. What are default passwords for startalk?

What do you mean by "Reset"?
Just rebooted or "Re-initialized"

I was able to re-initialize the system, but now it is telling me that feature 983, and 981 is an inactive feature.
