I have a Norstar 4x16 system, and I am wondering if there is a way to program one of the buttons on the 7316E sets, to be able to transfer to someone's extension.

Right now I have to push F70 then the extension.

I have screwed it up on several occasions myself as well as others in the office. A one touch "Transfer to X" button would be great.

Thanks. smile

Put F70 on a button by using the F*3 (feature key programming). Label it "Transfer". Then put extensions on your buttons using F*2 (internal autodial programming).

HiVolt: No there is no way to program a single button to transfer to an extension. If you are using a 7316e phone, TRANSFER will show up in the display. As JWR suggested you can program extensions on your buttons.
But doing that you will still have to hit 2 buttons. Press the TRANSFER button under your display then press the single button (for example) Peggy x232.
That is the best you can do.

Maybe I am way past my 65 years and can't understand questions.

If you have available buttons on a 7316, I would just do [Feature] * 2 then push the desired button and then dial the extension number to program the button. If you are on a call and want to transfer it to that person, just push that button and either announce the call or just hang up and the call will ring at that phone.

Maybe I can't read well and can't understand the true question and am missing something here.

What you are missing is that customers are too lazy. Boo Hoo - I have to press TWO buttons. BOO HOO. I only want to press ONE button. BOO HOO. Two buttons are too much work for me.
