All Nortel cards that will release smoke on hotswap have a warning label- Power must be turned off before card is inserted.

Of course the proper way is to disable the card FIRST in the software. Once it is properly disabled, then you may HOTSWAP. Then of course re-enable the card.
If CON is the opposite of PRO Then what is the opposite of Progress?

The TMDI cards are more tolerant than the DTI/PRI cards. Know your loads in case you have to enable the loop or bump the d channel.

It will reestablish if the circuit is good. You have to determine what red LED was on as that will tell if the card is disabled or in RED alarm. You may also have piggyback cards on the circuit pack to replace depending on which model it is.

Yes, go to LD 96 Dis DCH X (X= DCH#)
Then LD 60
DISL X (X= PRI loop)
STAT X (X= PRI loop)
It shaould say Loop X DSLB
The light on the old card should turn red. remove old/insert new LD 60 ENLU X (X= PRI loop)
STAT x (X= PRI loop)
you should see the loop enabled and up and the channels IDLE
then type SSCK 0
make sure the clocking is trtacking correctly
then type LCNT
look at the errors.. then type RCNT to reset the counts ( you will get errors when taking the card oos..
