I've a BCM50 R6 with a informational mail box setup for the receptionist to dump marketing people into. It state after the message is played, "exiting the system, goodbye" Apparently some caller dialed 0 and came back mad as hell at the receptionist.
Any way to disable default target attendant in an informational mail box?

I believe that the Info mail box will disconnect after it is played. How are callers getting to the Info MB?

IF you use the CCR Tree to play the message then you can pick: disconnect, goto receptionist, OR go back to the CCR prompt.

Best to use the CCR to give info if you don't want an "EXITING THE SYSTEM".

This has noting to do with CCR. The receptionist answer a call and finds a telemarketing person is calling. She then xfrs the call to this information mail box. While the message plays, the caller press 0, and goes back to the receptionist.

So it did or did NOT disconnect the caller?
OR
So it did or did NOT go back to the operator?

And which way did you want it to do?

It sounds like he zeroed out & returned to the reception. Either that or the jerk had the %$#& to call back. laugh

Yeah, the marketer zeroed out of the info mb to the receptionist, and they ask me if I could stop that.
I don't think it can be done.

If the idea is to send him to VM hell, why not just place him on exclusive hold?

He'd have to be a very patient or insistent SOB to eventually get picked up again by reception.

I talked with the receptionist today, and went she sees these callers coming back, she is going to let them go through to the general delivery mail box, where she can delete them. This guys got huffy with her when he came back to her. I told her to answer the phone and say, "exiting the system good bye"

Create a Subscriber mailbox.
Record the Alternate greeting as your info
Set The Leave Message option to NO
Change the Target Attendant to the DN of your choice.
