To All, I attempted to turn up a PRI on 7.1 software last night. The PRI Key Code was installed and accepted. The card was changed in hardware to PRI, the system was rebooted several times and when I go to routes to select PRI A it never gives me the option It goes from Pool A to Pool O and then back to Pool A. I have never seen this happen before. The guy who has there to turn up the PRI with the carrier knew the Norstar and he had never seen it before either.
Someone mentioned that it could be a T1 card issue. I have done hundreds of these installs and have never had a T1 card fail.
Has anyone else ever seen this happen to them and have a fix for me? I am scheduled to try and cut it again on 12-16-2011.
Thanks in advance, Mark

Might make sure you put the PRI card in the slot you've assigned it to. I did this once. If you the card isn't in the right slot that you've assigned it to, it's not going to recognize it.

Usually it would be in the right of the two slots in the base cabinet. This is counter intuitive to what most people would think, left to right, after all, this is not a Hebrew cabinet.
You could have them turn it up with a few numbers not assigned to the customer for testing purposes.

-In maintenance disable the slots, then go to hardware and assign as PRI. -Enter all protocols then enable the slot/card -Build your routes and dest code -Set programming

Curly, The problem is when I try to build the Route it will not select the PRI-A. It only shows the Pools as options.
Is it possible that the T1 card is bad? Could it be a 7.1 software issue that will not see the PRI in the routes? It does show itin hardware.

What I mean was do the above, you may have missed a step therefore programming in routes does not see PRI as being installed.
Although you told hardware its a PRI card (in the correct slot to the right I hope?) go into Lines/ line - 001 and see what the Trunk Type shows as.
Go into Maintenance and check as well.
It could be the card, just simply not recognized.
