I am a beginner using a phone system, so bare with me. I am the Admin on our phone system Nortel M7310. I have no idea what happened, but when I was out of the office then back in I am no longer able to log into Feature 983 to make changes to our call tree/Admin features. I need to re-record a name on the tree and I can't log in. When I hit Feature 983 and enter XXXX (we have 3 digit phone extensions) it says "invalid password". This is how I've gotten in since we've had the phone system for about 2 years. We've called a technician and he said the only thing to do is reset the system. He has tried every other way he can think of.

My first question is, are there any other ways to get into the system? 2nd question is what are the repercussions of resetting the phone system?

PLEASE do not post passwords of any kind in the open forum.

The admin password can be defaulted. Perhaps that's what the tech meant!

If you can't find the info that Curlycord is referring to, call in ANOTHER tech....one who knows what he's doing.

What does it say as soon as you do the F983? It may have defaulted on it's own....meaning you'll have to start over from scratch.

BTW, M7310 is the model of the phone you are using. Your phone system will have another name/number.
