I had a customer call me today who has several branches and is contemplating purchasing MOH players from another compnay. These units will give the customer the ability to download industry specific messages to the units pretty much at will. The downside is, they would have to pay a pretty hefty monthly fee for the service and several thousound up front equipment fees. Qestion is, does anyone know of any equipment I could offer without the "canned" messages (and monthly fee)? In other words I'd like to be able to offer the customer an alternative that would still allow her to update the branches remotely. They currenty have Bogen digital MOH players at all the branches. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

The ON-HOLD systems have several models. There is one model that enables you to download or record your own music using your pc.
I have always used radio stations and have never had any problems.......
Or you can buy endless loop cd's.....

This is what we usually sell our customers but it will require someone on site to change message. Messages can be sent to site manager by Email and when you buy the unit you get 3 free messages and after that there is a charge if you need more post again and I'll try and explain it a little better https://www.onholdplus.com/pages/ohp3000.html

I have customers using On-Hold Plus and Bogen. The Bogen is nice because you can record a tape, it automatically uploads to the digital portion, and, in the event of a power outage, reloads by itself. The OHP's are good because their memory is non-volatile (I think the documentation claims it will hold a recording for 25 years). In either case, the client has the option of making their own recording: this can be industry-specific or business-specific. None of my clients have subscribed to any of the services. You need to be careful of just using a radio for MOH, since there are licensing issues that may arise through outfits such as ASCAP/BMI.
