Does anyone know the procedures to connect from a laptop via a serial cable to the panasonic 616? I am using hyperterminal...can I program this way...or can i see the smdr out put....any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance.

I'll reply to myself. No idiot boy...it's just an SMDR RS 232 port...the 616 can't be programmed with a laptop. You've had a serious lapse of brain cells. Go try again. Plug into something that WORKS.
