Trying to install a PC based 3rd party VM on a Panasonic 816 digital system.
When a set is in call forward no answer, it forwards to the VM but doesn't send tone to tell the VM which greeting to play..Looking for ideas as to where we have gone wrong.

Program 113 is VM DTMF set and program 114 is VM command DTMF set. Most 3rd party voicemail /AA systems come with specifics for the type of switch your integrating it to. [Linked Image from sundance-communications.com]

Hook up a digit grabber to see if the KSU is sending the dtmf digits on a call forward. What voicemail system is it?

assign the voicemail ports in program 117.
118 is to assign the voicemail extension numbers but you should'nt have to change this.
You can dial the Ext. # or I believe you can still use the assigned numbers in 118 evan when using inband as you are.
assign you voicemail ports in 117 and that should ring your voicemail when you call the 1st extension.
Then just for grins call intercom 165 and see if it still goes through.

It's been a long time since I've done inband integration on the KXTD. As far as I can remember, you need to look at program 602 and 106. In program 602, put the analog extensions in a group separate from the others (group 8 for example). In program 106, assign that voicemail group as AA. The first extension in that vm group is your vm pilot number. I don't think program 117 applies to inband signaling.

Phonemiester is right about program 117 that is for dpits integration. Be sure that you have turned on xdp on the port(Prg. 600) and put the -2 jack of the port into a common ext group, ( I use "8" : program 602 ) then set that Ext group to A for auto attendant or V for voicemail (prog 106) then match the dtmf digits needed for the Voice Gate using programs 113 and 114. This probably is not necessary if you bought the Voicemail with the Panasonic integration already installed in it. You really do need a digit graber to work out the kinks in this and it can be daunting for a certified tech. You might want to look for some on site help with something like this.
