I'm confused about auto fax detection. The manual says you need a DISA/Fax card to automatically send a fax call to a specific jack. But I recall reading in Panasonic company literature that the 624 is capable of doing this without the card. Any ideas? Thanks.

No, it is not capable of doing this without the card however you can do it with the auto fax detection in the TVS 50.
Where is your dealer/installer or did you pick this up on line?

Use a fax switch before the CO line. Mine is made by Command Communications:

Go from the outside line ---> fax switch ---> phone system.

Other alternative is to buy a KX-TA62491 DISA card, which are pricey.

Many Panasonic voicemail systems come with fax detection ... but it is slower than using a fax switch.

Gemini hasn't deleted any I did, after you put a porn link in your profile you were banned as we do not tolerate that at all, so you join back up under a new name and use a different IP. If you want to be a member of this board then fine. You can start by editing your last post and fix your profile.

I got your email and if indeed your link was a mistake then fine.
