Hello,
need a little help. my client wants to change their phone system setup - when someone calls the local number it's automatically answered by auto attendant that says something like "thank you for calling X(sub) company, if you know your parties ext etc....if you need immediate assistance please press 0 for the operator(goes to operator of parent company).
Only problem is, the phone system is already configured for its parent company with its own local/800 number. Is there anyway I can setup a Sub system within the main system with its own local number and auto attendant?
phone system - voice processing system kx-tvs200 kxtd1232
Thanks, Ed

Ed, i believe your asking if you can "tenant" the system? It's not really designed for that but there are some "work arounds" As I recall one of the pitfalls is the operator call. You can have 2 operators, you can assign which extensions are operators and you can ring both simultaneously but you can not have seperate operators for different groups of extensions. With that said you can assign incomming ringing and out going CO line assignments as you like. Now for the TVS 200. you can split the ports so so certain CO lines ringing in do not get the wrong greeting and then set up custom menus as you like. I would think your pilot port is 165 and with a 200 you have at least 4 ports. You would do this in the TD1232 under program 119 voice mail extension groups. So if you have 4 ports, 165, 166, 167 & 168 put 167 & 168 in a different group then set the IRNA or DIL 1-1 for the specific CO lines to point to the correct lead port. Then set up the greetings in the TVS and assign them to the specific ports. If your not use to programming this you may consider calling in a Tech. MrG

right now, its setup - if someone calls company B's local number its forwarded to an extension.
We're only going to have 1 operator(company A's op.) which is the parent company.
basically i want to know which program #'s to use to create a 2nd voicemail system within the main system.
thanks, ed

1st you have to see how many ports you have in the TVS 200 Then take whatever port or ports you want to dedicate to the 2nd company and put them in a seperate "voice mail hunt group" in program 119 of the TD 1232. Then you need to go into the message managers mailbox of the TVS 200 and record a custom greeting for that 2nd company and assign that greeting to the port or ports that are in the 2nd group you made in the TD1232. Then you need to go into the TD 1232 and set up how the CO lines are answered for that 2nd company, either IRNA or DIL 1-1. If you want them answered immediatly then go into DIL 1-1 day 407 and night 408 and point those CO lines to the extension # of the 1st voice mail port you put in the 2nd group (above in 119) again, if your not use to programming or don't understand this you may want to call a Tech.
