I've been trying to troubleshoot this issue for some time and thought I'd try posting this problem. I am trying to run a standard cordless phone off a T7230. The phone works but it won't ring. I've turned on and off the parallel (391) but it still won't ring. I believe the problem is the voltage level is not high enough. How does one rectify this?

Your sure it's not a seperate extension, that the XDP is off for that station.
Make sure that parallel is on, intercom 391.
Make sure MOH is off even if you don't have a sorce.
Also make sure it's on 1 of the 1st 4 ports.

MrG,

I checked all of this, unfortunately. I'm afraid there is not enough juice and I have no idea how to correct this.

Put a ac volt meter across line and measure ring voltage.

Scoot, what brand of cordless is this?
Are you sure it works if you plug it directly into a CO line and not through the system?

it definitely works when you bypass the system. I even tried two other phones and no ring. I'll measure the voltage but am afraid I'll need to increase it. How does that work?

You would have to use an after market device like Vikings RG-10A ring booster.

I can't say for sure that this will work, you may have an internal system problem.
I've never had a problem ringing an SLT off any of the Panasonic switches.
I would try a buscuit jack right off the 66 block and also try reversing the tip & ring on pair 1 of that port.

Which port is the 7230 in ?

Is the cordless on its own port or the XDP port on 7230 ?

Have you tried it in a different port ?

Do you have any other SLT devices on the system, if yes do they ring?

Does the system have the SLT expansion card ?

If you check ring voltage it should be about 80Vrms@25Hz
