I am trying to install a used KXTD1232 for a customer and I keep hitting the same wall over and over again. Its a ver. 5 and I`m programming from a phone,a KX-T7456.I press a co button and it says co not assigned. But I know I have.In program 400 I have co 1,enable.In program 005, port 1 which is where I have my phone,I have button 1 assigned as co1 but yet when I press it it says co not assigned.I`ve cleared the memory and started over but still the same problem. I`m wondering if the system is bad. Someone told me to program it with a laptop which I don`t have the software to do it anyway but why wouldn`t it be the same from a phone. Thanks for any help

hi phoneman92 although i am in the euro zone the fault finding setup is still the same there are a couple of reasons for this error and the most common is the line pos... it depends on 1. the typy of line you have connected 2. where on the system you have them installed.
first if the lines you are using are pots lines(annalogue lines)where on the system are they lines on the inside of the system start at the base of the card ...the lowest pair down = line 1 and move up the card in pairs to line 8 all on the lower 4 ports with 2 lines per port second... if the lines are on a module on the door then and no card inside then the lines would present as line 9 to 12 and when pressing line 1 would give the (co not assigned) error if the lines you are using are isdn then the same rule as above applies with the 4 bri card internal giving lines (channnels ) 1 - 8 and on the door giving channells 9 12 these are however more likely to give an error as the system from default would often setup as a co not an so card. if the lines you are using are pri then it could be a case that the channels are arriving on co 25 upwards and not co 1 upwards.. you would need to program a button as line co26 to test this press prog dial 99 press a spare co button dial 0 dial 26 press store press programe. let us know 1. what type of lines you have 2. where on the system they are connected 3. if you know what model no of cards you have installed would be great
things that would stop you from grabbing a line. co is not enabled ,day/night outgoing line assignments ,trs ,flexable button programing I'dd double check that, i'dd do a 790# have found wierdness has been cleared after doing that

Press the "Line 13" button. If it *doesn't* say CO LINE NOT ASSIGNED, then the master/slave swith next to the internal eproms needs to be moved to the MASTER position (don't forget to reboot) -Joe www.newpanasonicphones.com

The internal 8 port CO board could be bad (or disconnected). ??? I might be able to loan you one for testing purposes. -Joe 775 338 9292 www.austintele.com
