It should read "restricted" rather then CO not assigned. Your sure that the button 3 is CO 3 ? As for 83 grabbing CO 3 then CO 3 would have to be in trunk group 3 and the only line or the highest line in that trunk group. If you want all sets to be the same on outgoing go into 605 and 606 and enter a * where it asks for a port or extension and a * for CO lines and then press store. By the way, can you c access CO 3 on any of the sets? MrG

if the ext is locked the display will say restricted when you try to make an outside call from them....
to make sure all exts are allowed to have access to all outside lines ... go into programming display:ent sys prog no: your input: 604 display: day out co: your input:press sp phone display co(x)jak(01)enable or disable your input: * your input again:* press autodial store
above will set all exts to have access to all lines in day mode you will have to do the same again for night mode prog 605 at start
hope this helps

Sounds like you are almost to the last resort. Memory dump. I had a customer get into one so bad that even when I changed all the programming back, it still would not work.
Stupid question time. Have you checked station programming to make sure button 3 is CO 3 and not reprogrammed as something else? Program Button 003 store. If memory serves me right.
Do the job right the first time.

Just to be sure the extension to port assignment has not been changed, on the sets that are not working press programm 99-6 and see if the port matches the extension. Also just for the heck of it see if an SLT functions on the ports in question, I'm beginning to suspect a wiring problem. Programming has to be done by the port. You are using digital sets right? Did you check the amp. connector to make sure it's seated properly? I would disconnect all the cross connect, field wiring if your punched direct :nono: , or pull the bridging clips, what ever you have and use 1 biscuit jack with a digital set and go down all 8 stations on that card and check them 1 by 1. Remember, allow 3 pair per station. MrG

3 pairs per station? it only requires 2 pairs per ext right? how to check for slt functions? 99-6 says correct ext, as we thought. thanks for your posts.

Allow 3 pair per station on your count down the punch block for the 25 pair Amp. cable. Digital sets actually only require 1 pair, the 2nd pair of each port. the 1st pair is for SLT operation, XDP or if your using analog sets. It is a good practice to wire 2 pair to all your jacks. the 3rd pair on the blck is skipped. Do as I mentioned above and I think you will be OK. To check SLT operation you simply use an SLT or butt set. MrG

wire out looks like this
white/blue = slt... ext.. 201 (leg 1) blue/white = slt... ext.. 201 (leg 2) white/orange Digi... ext.. 101 (leg 1) orange/white = Digi.. ext .101 (leg 2) white/green = ..(unused (leg 1) green/white = ..(unused (leg 2) white/brown = slt... ext... 202(leg 1) brown/white = slt... ext... 202 (leg 2) white/slate = Digi.. ext.. 102 (leg 1) slate/white = Digi.. ext.. 102 (leg 2)
then uses red pairs red/blue = (unused leg 1) blue/red = (unused leg 2) red/orange = slt... ext.. 203 (leg 1) orange/red = slt... ext.. 203 (leg 2) red/green = digi... ext.. 103 (leg 1) green/red = digi... ext.. 103 (leg 2) red/brown = (unused leg 1) brown/red = (unused leg 1) red/slate = slt... ext.. 204 (leg 1) slate/red = slt.. ext.. 204 (leg 2)
and so on peter

Best TRouble shooting weould be to use a Seimons 4 conductor quick clip for the 66 block, plug into each station 9-16 at the backboard making sure that the Amp connector is properly seated. We run 2 screws into the plastic body pressing against the amp so it will never come off.) Then plug into the 8 jacks inside the Cabinet. The Quick Clip is a necessity for trouble shooting. Plugs right on to the 66 block. If phones are not working at the 66 block of exp module, check the wiring of the block and amp. Make sure that the station in question has outgoing access to the line 605-606 and that the buttttons are set right. To check button PROGRAM 99, press button- display will show assignment. Concentrate on 1 ext at a time. LAST RESORT= initialize switch, check for above problems and if fixed, reprogram.
