I have this system in a building that has three companies working off of it. 4 of the lines are answered by a single voice mail box. The 5th line I installed yesterday I put into a dil so ext. 107 vm would answer it. Problem is when I use this as a dil it won't ring on any other telephone in the system. The manual says you can't do it. I think there has to be a way. I need ext 103 to ring on line 5 as well.

Ok, now I see No it won't do it. Your tellng the system that you want this line to be a DIL which means it goes to 1 extension. What type of voicemail. TVS or TVA ? I don't know if a TVS will do trunk service on the TA824 or not. If it's a TVA 50 you can use trunk service and still have it's own AA greeting. If your using the BVM card your not going to get it. I think I see what you're saying. It is the TVA 50. Only problem is the customer wants to answer the calls if available. Is it possible to use the AA and send the caller to 107's vm if no one answers?

Why not DIL it to Ext 103 with ext CF/BSY-NA to the VM with EXT 103 VM Box doing the General Mailbox for this line.
Good question on about the TVA doing the live transfer --- the settings are usually either to the ext first or the VM first. Give it a try.

You should be able to. Set you TA824 up to ring the extensions the way you want. How is the AA answering for the other busness'? You can set up the 5th line to delay ring the voicemail ports. After 3 or 4 rings you can have a custom message answer for that line, no DTMF input, transfer to MBX 107 and play another greeting just for that MBX or record a second of silence. Or if you would like it faster in that custom message say to leave a message press 1 and then have 1 go to 107 you can also offer other options in that custom message. Keep in mind that there is only 1 day/night and there is no true IRNA. You can have a CO line go directly to the AA or delay it and with trunk service you can have specific custom messages play for specific CO lines. Actually not bad for a small, analog SO/HO designed system. MrG
