I am running a TAW848 with a doorphone card and I have things set up so that when someone at the front door presses the doorbell button all of my phones wring with a distinctive ring tone pattern (triple rings). But what I'd really like to do is to change things so that when someone presses the doorbell all of my phones made a ding dong sound that sounds like a regular door bell. Any chance I can somehow program ring tones to play a particular midi file or in some other way synthesize the sound of an old doorbell?

Remember the relays?
Have door ring slt port, relay on port, control any device you want.
There are also relays on the doorphone card, almost forgot about them.

Thanks, but I was not trying to ring other devices like a doorbell. I could do that in a more straightforward way by just connecting the two leads coming from the door to a doorbell.

I instead wanted all of the phones to ring but I wanted the ring to be really really different (e.g. ding dong or some other sound that is obviously different from my regular calls). I changed the ring to a triple ring while my regular calls are single ring, but I'd love to make it much more different than that.

Is there a way to get an entirely different ring pattern (different tones instead of the same tone multiple times)?

Or maybe there's a way to jerry-rig things so that when someone rings the bell the TAW848 does a Page All that plays a recording like 'doorbell'?

Have the door box ring only 1 slt port, run that port into a CO line, have that CO Line ring phones.
Give that CO line a special ring.
There are at least 8 choices, maybe 30 like in the TDA--(several musical tones).

Very clever, brokeda (as always). I think there are 8 ring tables in the taw848; but when I go to wired extensions in the console it appears you can only set one of those 8 ring pattern tables for each extension. I want all my extensions to ring regular telephone rings for regular incoming calls but a musical tone or some other distinctive ring for the calls that come from the doorphone the way you describe. Any way to specify for a particular extension that it should use one ring tone table for calls coming in from the outside and a separate ring tone table for calls coming in from the doorphone in the way you suggest?

You assign tone to CO line under flexible buttons,
should be 30 to chose from.
