I have a kxtda200 installed within a block of a 5E central office and have had continuous problems with voice quality (clipping), as well as, dropped calls. Of course the provider has its' finger pointed at us, but we have replaced every componentof this system. We have also installed a new cable from the NI to the Equipment and certified this link. Anyone have any advise?????

Panasonic thinks there is an issue with the provider. The provider is supposed to supply us with an error report from their side that shows the tda sending timing error reports. I guess that we go from there. We did chase down one parameter (b channel auto negotiation) that seemed to eliminate one of the problems that we had when it was disabled in the 5E.

IF YOU HAVE CSU/DSU IN THE CIRCUIT TRY BYPASSING IT FOR A FEW DAYS. (DON'T SWAP IT OUT WITH ANOTHER ONE, JUST BYPASS IT.THE PRI CIRCUIT SHOULD STILL WORK WITHOUT IT. I DID THIS AT A CUSTOMER THAT HAD PRI PROBLEMS AND ALL THE ERRORS DISAPPEARED. THE CUSTOMER (CAMPAIGN HEADQUARTES FOR A NEW YORK MAYOR CANDIDATE) WAS CLOSING THE OFFICE A FEW WEEKS LATER, SO WE DIDN'T BOTHER REPLACING THE FAULTY CSU/DSU, JUST WORKED WITHOUT IT.

The provider has voice activity detection on their circuit that was very sensetive. Once they disabled this feature, the sound quality improved. We still get RAI's about every 2 to 3 days and Panasonic thinks that we have a virtual PRI and not a tru PRI. The provider had me on a conference call that included a Cisco tech and PTS thinks that that is a sign of a Voip to PRI circuit. The provider tells me that this is a true PRI. I have asked for a blueprint of the circuit with a listing of components and model numbers. Is there anything that I need beyond this?? Panasonic says that they have had issues with virtual PRI's.

Don"t really mind the yelling, but does anyone know where a Cisco Technician would fit in on a conference call between an equipment tech (myself) and the provider of this PRI circuit.?? KXT Support still thinks that we are not hooked up to a Standard BellCo. PRI?? This provider is the third incarnation of a secondary provider.
