KXTD 1232-2 Trying to open door strike from phone w/o calling door phone first. I know the code to be Intercom 551. This isnt working. Strike will open when I call doorphone first, or if doorphone calls me.

The door open code is programmable so it is possible that the code has been changed. In system pgming check pgm #100, Flexible Numbering, and the door open code is item 37. by default that code is 55. Also make sure you are trying to open door 1, if it is door 2 you are trying to open then the code will be 552.

are all phones programmed to ring if the doorbell is pushed?
i think that only extensions that are programmed to ring for that doorbell can use the code to open the door.

Believe the problem is related to SW release. Earlier releases had to be connected to door box. And there was a limit to the number of phones that could be triggered by doorbox, which, of course, meant that only those phones could unlock the door. Can you say Viking? John C.
