We recently added 4 new 7030 phones to our business.
Here is the problem we are having with our new phones. When an outside call is coming in, you have to choose the line instead of just picking up the phone.

Can someone please advice on how to program?
Only information I could find is that it has to be done from the program station.

Thanks.

The telephones have to ring on incoming calls to be able to answer by picking up the phone.

To assign ringing per extension I think its is prog 08 for day and 09 for night.
This is main system programming and if your not sure how to do it,you should get some one in to do it.

Not sure if I explained the problem well enough.
We already had 4 KX-T7030 phones on extensions 11-16. When there is an incoming call anyone can simplly pick up the phone and answer.
However, we added 4 new phones on using extensions 17-20. Those new phones don't auto-pick up when a call comes in. On extensions 17-20 you have to chosse the line instead of simply picking up.

The only other thing I can find is prog 14, automatic answering of line. but ths is on by default and the line ringer still has to be sounding on the extension for it to auto answer on handset pick up.

The prog manual I have is for the 308 model but I think the programming No's were the same

To make the phone automatically select the line, I believe you dial 721# in Intercom. If you need a manual for a KX-T61610 email me. Or if you want help in person feel free to call me.

I will quote my reference manual that I have.
It states:
"Auto-Pick Up of CO lines can be enabled/disabled allowing you to choose if you wish incoming CO calls to be answered on picking up handset/SP-Phone or by first pressing the flashing CO button."

"NOTE: Your extension must be programmed to receive CO calls. SET/PROGRAM switch ca be found at the rear of the station."

for the 308/616 it states
"Must be set at system programming station, See installation manuals."

I do have an installation manual, and the only thing that I can see that is relevent is on page 26 under "Trunk Assignment". Which is set to the default plan.

Does anyone see what I am missing?

For the auto answer to work it must be enabled and the extension must be assigned to ring which must be done in the system programming

It's ringing line preference and it's a default setting, if the phone is programmed to ring. It's surprising how many people don't realize their phone isn't programmed to ring, they're just hearing others around them ringing.
