Co 5 is intermittently not ringing at phones and Co 8 will not ring at all. Both cos' are set for immediate ringing.Lines are ringing through butt set.
Are ports going bad?

Can you make calls on these co's. Is the light lighting solid or flashing when you ring it. It is possible for the ports to be going bad, but the line does not normally come through when the have.It could be the ring bursts on the line try swapping the lines around and see if the fault follows the line or the port

SRD, as OBT stated, swap CO 5 and 6 with CO port 1/2 and see if you still have the problem or it rings properly. This will eliminate any problems with the LEC and the wiring from the Dmarc. Can you access these lines? CO5 & 8 are on the same card so it could be a bad card but I doubt it. Try a simple reset of the system. ------------------------ MrG

if you swap out the lines and the problem points to the td1232, i would definately default the system and see what happens in the default mode. still no ring then you have bad hardware

If the problem does follow the line, what should I tell the LEC is the problem, because they wont say that the problem is on their side, Ill have to prove it to them.

Well, you should actually verify that it IS their problem. Check it at the NID or Dmarc for loop current. If it is their problem simply tell them you checked the line from the NID and your still having problems. But make certain the problem is not between the NID and the system. MrG

If the problem does follow the line, test the line for ring voltage. i may be mistaken but i believe the panasonic needs to see atleast 65VAC ring voltage. even though you hear it on your but set, there might not be enough ring voltage on those lines to trip the panasonic.

Or it could be the ring pulse is to short, you can chang how often the system looks for a ring burst in co settings, not avised can cause other problems, had to chance it once as the phone company was using a line carrier ( one pair cable in 4 co's out) and the ringing bursts were short so the system intermittently missed the ring causing a fault like SRD's
