I'll lay it on the table right away and say I'm a Do-It-Yourselfer. We've tried calling our installer, but he's no longer in the phone business and we just have this one problem before we're up and running. One of the other guys here used to install phones and we're on our own for now. We're also a bit rural, but that's a different story.
We're upgrading a KX-TD1232(-7) with voicemail on a TVA-200 and want the automatic attendant to pickup overflow calls and after hours.
I have the VPS connected to jack 2, extensions are 165 and 166 and are in exg 8. Exg 8 is set to AA Station Hunting. (VM Station Hunting has also been tried)
Auto-configuration worked like a breeze and the system works both exts. on the inside. I can also use VTR button to transfer an outside caller to a personal mailbox. Message lights work.
I have DIL 1:1 on one line set to Ext 165 for testing. When I call from an outside line, the line appears to pick up (solid red light) but keeps ringing on the outside.
I ran a trace on the TVA200 and it runs through its entire program, shows the caller ID in the trace, everything, until it disconnects the caller because of silence - and the caller hears ringing the whole time.
I also tried DIL 1:N delayed and IRNA forwarding, they all do the same thing, but VTR works! :bang:
This suggests to me it's a programming issue with the 1232, but I have double and triple checked everything I can think of.
The few bits in Program 990 don't seem to offer up any solutions.
At this point I'm hoping it's something really simple that I'm too frustrated to think of. Any clues?

nfnitloop, try calling the 165 from a set that does not have a mailbox and let us know if it answers.

Yes, I get "Good Morning, Welcome to the Voice Processing System" and can go to the directory and leave messages.

We'll give this some more thought but two things for now.
1: make sure the system isn't on lunch, break or nights.
From any display set press the # key.
2: Reset the TD1232-7

Could caller id routing be set up for your phone number in the vm?

And like Mr G said check night and day or program line 1 for dil 1:1 for 165 day and night.

The system is on Auto Day/Night and this happens with whatever mode its in.
There's no custom programming in the VM yet, We're waiting to do that until we get the system working. (We are using it for voicemail since that works) The strangest thing is the VPS thinks it's picking it up.
Here's another little tidbit I discovered a couple days ago. I have a custom made CTI program that's parsing data from SMDR to enter caller ID data into our call log automatically for our techs.
Here's the raw SMDR data when I made a call DIL 1:1 to the VPS:

The 1232 logs the call as No-Answer

Oh, and we just reset the system yesterday. We installed an 8EXT module and a 4CO module so we had to power down the 1232.
I've re-initialized the VPS numerous times as well.

Put the TVA on a different port, port may be bad.
(working with no audio.)
And you don,t need to set ext group or hunting, setting a port as VM is all that is needed.

The port works on inside calls and was connected to a KX-T7431 before we installed the VPS. And it works for Voicemail Transfer on CO lines, just not to pick up lines directly.

It sounds like programing in the td, the ports seem to work as vm and AA when dialed from extension with no vm set up.

Have you both digital and slt port from td connected to port 1 on tva?
