I have a KX-TDA 100 with 2 doorphones they want it integrated into the access control system, basically unlock mag locks when some rings the door phone. Problem is the options card has 4 ports for door phones and it says 4 ports for openers but I can't get it to work and Panasonic told me I don't need anything else any help is appreciated. I am not as familiar with panasonic peripherals as I am with NEC's.

The TDA manuals should explain how the door card is pinned out, it does have both door phone ports and door strike ports. Are the door phones installed & working? Are you familiar with wiring doorstrikes, looping it between the power supply and the door strike port?

If you are using mag-locks and try to use them looping through the system relay it won't work. all you can give out from the system is a short or a n/o to n/c contact the system should trigger a relay or some sort of interface to work mag-locks.

While talking to the door you dail 5 if you just want to release door without talking to door press *5501-*5504 door 1 to 4

Is the access control up and working?
Why not interface that relay in with the doorphone relay?
You do know that the doorphone card does not provide any power.

everything is up the doorphones work and mag locks work but right now are in stand-by until this issue is addressed. I figured the door opener circuits would either be NO or NC but I have tried testing for continuity and cannot get it whether it is just sitting there or if I try and use the open feature. Is there a setting in the system that denotes what that specific port should be doing.

JR, to clarify things, you are referring to the
DPH4 card, TDA 0161, correct?

i think your problem is in understanding whats happening !!

1 in order for the maglock to work power is always on. this keeps the door closed. breaking the connection opens to the power supply opens the door.
now on the panasonic system the connection is always broken and makes the connection when activated so its working in the reverse of what you require.
what you need is either a relay between the system and the maglock to reverse the system or inside the door keypad there will be one built in

hope this helps

It's also possible that the RTE of the card access will trigger on a short, which would put you home free regardless whether the request to exit is used or not.
