I put in a new Kxtaw 848 and am having problems with programming. First I could not get into the system with the maint console with rs232 or with usb cable. With the rs232 I would get a "timed out unable to receive" message. With the usb as soon as I click on connect it would say "unable to open usb port. Then I tried some basic programming with a PT. I was able to register a couple of PS,enter extension names, and add speed dial numbers. But when I tried to set the date and time I would get the tone that indicates the value is already entered. Any ideas why I can't change the time and date? Also is there a process to initialize the system with a PT. Also I noticed that the SD memory LED is not on. Is that a concern. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I will reload drivers. any idea why I can't set the time from the PT. You would think that the time and date would be simple.

I can get to the program, it just will not take the time and date programming. the procedure is get to 000 press auto dial store and enter the data and then auto dial store again. the problem is when i press auto dial store the first time it gives me a tone as if the info that i entered is already programmed.

the program 000 is in main/manager programming, press auto dial store, enter yy,use auto ans/mute to select month, press right on vol key enter date dd then press auto dial store, press down on vol selector enter hh mm and use auto ans/mute to select am/pm then press autodial store.

My problem is that when I get to program 000 and press auto dial store I get the tone that you get when you have entered a value that is already programmed. So I can't enter any digits. Its strange because it seems as if the date and time cannot be changed. I used that same procedure to enter speed dials, register PS's and to enter extension names with no problem.

Sorry, I just read it. In the kxtaw848 it is a little different. Instead of next or speaker, you press auto dial store to select the program. It works fine for every program but 000. I wonder if there is some initilization process that I missed. I cant find any reference in the installation manual on how to initilize the system. I took it out of the box and the switch was on initilize. I powered it up, then powered it down and set the switch to normal. Everything seems to work except the time and date. That make me think that I missed something.
