We have a site where when a call has been transferred, the call is often cut off after a minute or so. This does not happen if the call is answered directly and is happening accross all extns. Any suggestions ??

W A-Kid, are you saying that it only happens when the call is transfered from an auto-attendant? ------------------ MrG

No, the call is answered by a user and then transfered

Try turning off no dial connection in prog 211. Have seen problems when call transfered, not held is droped and then picked up again and the system will drop the line because it thinks you are making a outgoing call but when it does not see any digits being dialed it drops the line.
To Prevent this make sure all calls are transfered the same, if one person is holding and announcing the call on line 1, the person may hang up and press line 1 flashing. if someone else is using transfer or R button and when they hang up the call is put through, but the person reciving the call hangs up and then press the line button, they will get the call ok but the system thinks you hung up and now you are making a outgoing call, but drops the line because it does not see any digits being dialed.

When the call comes in the receptionist answers, she then presses the transfer key and announces the call to the other extn. After the extn answers, the call lasts a short time and then is lost. The extn then has to hit the line key the call came in on because the caller is still there. This only happens when a call is transferred to another extn. ??

Turn off the no dial detect in prog 211 it should solve the problem, but it sounds like something happening in the transfer process. the only way to see what’s happening is observe the receptionist transferring the calls and also watch the person receiving the call( this is better done if you can without them knowing you are watching, as they will be extra careful if they know) and watch the line lights. Or else use hold and see if the calls still drop .
