This is my TD1232/TVS100 installation ailing again..
TVS has 4 ports, & all calls to CO lines are directed to ext 165 ( i.e. these 4 ports).
TD1232 uses jacks 22 & 23 for the TVS.

I got a call from the department that uses
this system, saying
that they could make only one call into the system- second call got RNA.

Please confirm that I am diagnosing this right..

Here's what I did:

I could establish 2 simultaneous calls - third gets RNA.

From a system phone, if you dial 165 or 166 - it
gets the voicemail system.
167 & 168 - "NOT VALID" in display on system phone.

First thing I thought was bad extension port
in the TD1232..

I changed the "Bad" jack ( 23-1 & 23-2 ) back to
a normal port, and plugged in a system phone.
Worked fine.

I checked the settings in 117 & 118 - they
show 22 & 23 as voicemail ports( correctly).

Checked continuity from 22 & 23 jacks on the block
to the modular line cords that plug into the
TVS-100 port cards. This was OK.

Plugged in my laptop, and rebooted the TVS..
All 4 ports are recognized. DPITS online.

I powered down the TVS, swapped the port cards.
powered up. Again, (laptop showed) all 4 ports
were recognized, but this time ** DPITS not established **

I powered down, swapped them back, powered up.
DPITS established, and again only the first
two ports ( 165 & 166 ) work.

I vote for a bad TVS port card ( #2 )..
Am I missing anything?

Thanks to this great group!

Phill, make sure you have 2 pair line cords.
ports 1 & 2 (165 & 166) are from the left jack on the bottom card.
Ports 3 & 4, (167 & 168) are off the left jack of the middle card.
If you suspect a bad card, swap them out.
Make sure the ground bar is tightened down on the cards.
You may want to check the XDP on ports 22 & 23 and see that's off.

Mr G,

Yup - 2-pair line cords..
The line cords are plugged into the left jacks
on the TVS cards.
XDP is on ( seems to turn on whenever you assign
them in 117 as vm ports.)

This system was working for more than 1 1/2 years
before now...

I don't have a spare port card - will order one
tomorrow...

About the grounding bar...not sure about this..
there's a piece of metal on the front of the
cards with spring metal fingers, but nothing
to contact to as far as I can see...except
maybe the closed door - but that's plastic..

Thanks.

Looked in the installation manual for the TVS100.
We don't have the ground strap - probably never
had it -this is a donation system, and I didn't
know about the strap.

Something else to order tomorrow.
