I have a customer with a kx-td 1232 rev 4
the main phone is a kx-t7433B and the rest about 12 are kx-t7420. All lines are on all phones and can access all lines to dial out, only jack 1 rings.
The problem is they want to remove the ring from jack 1,that is fine, now they want jack 21 to ring on line 8. I programmed this in 603 and 604. When line 8 is called the line lights steady red and the console flashes.
I looked in program 407 & 408 and all the co lines are disabled.
I swapped the 7433 and 7420 and it worked fine.
All the other 7420 act the same way. Lines 1 through 6 flash green on incomming and only lines 7 and 8 light red.
I spoke with a Panasonic dealer who had a similar problem and was told on the 7420 the top row of buttons cannot have incoming lines on them. Is this true?
I solved the problem by swapping line 6 and 8 on the phone I needed to have ring.
Has anyone else had a problem like this or is there another solution?

R-T, I've never heard that about the 7420s.
The book is showing you can actually have 12 CO lines on it if you wanted.
Are you sure the ringer switch on the side is on?
Did you try a reset of the system?
Use the display set and go around and check the individual button programming at each station.
Or you can check it through system programming, 005.
