Why is this so difficult? I have a phone B/NA forwarded to VM. If you dial the ext, it rings, and rolls to VM like I told it to. But if I direct a CO line to that extension, it rings forever (so frustrating that it doesn't follow the B/NA on the phone for CO lines).....
So, I tried to delay ring to 107, now the phone rings and then rolls to the main greeting.
How do you get an incoming CO call to ring an extension, then if that extension does not answer have it roll to that extension's voicemail box.
Every system I have ever worked on, this is a very basic programming step and works flawlessly. Why is it so difficult on this POS Panny --- is it even possible at all? God I hate this system. Never again....

DIL or ringing CO on station? DIL to set will B/NA to MB. Ringing of CO at the set goes to the delayed ringing to the VM AA then you dial the extension. Anyway, that is how I remember it..........

I don't think the system can do it. Looking through the maunals and have not seen anything yet. I'll keep looking though

You need to program the line to ring as a DIL 1:1. I suspect that you have the line set up as DIL 1:N.
1:1 means that a CO line belongs to a particular extension (basically a private line) and all station-related forwarding applies to calls on this line.
1:N means that a CO line is a general purpose line with no fixed station ownership.
Gotta love that Panasonic terminology. No need to hate it, you just need to learn their lingo. It is actually a rock-solid system otherwise.

How about this: Feature manual 1.1.40 DIL then Programming manual 9.3.1 CO Line Mode.
This is assuming you want an incoming call to act as a private line, and only ring and be available to a specific extension. The reason for doing this is so that an incoming call ringing on multiple extensions can't be snatched out of mid air and stuck in anyone's mailbox.

Thanks everyone for the replies. Obviously I'm a little frustrated. Let me add some more info.
What if it rings on 2 extensions, but I want to dump no answer calls into 1 mailbox?
In other words, CO line 3 rings extension 101 and 102 through Flexible Ringing (programming 408). Then on a no-answer condition, I want the call to go to the voicemail box associated with extension 101.
The Flex Ringing just makes it ring forever. And I tried Delay Ringing to voicemail, but then it just goes to the Auto-Attendant.
I just saw programming 416 (DIL). Would that do it? If I use 416 for CO Line 3 - Select DIL - Jack 01. Would that send callers to line 3 to mailbox 101 on a no answer condition?
(Normally I would just try it rather than posing the question here, but the customer is 2 hours away and really cannot follow programming steps over the phone).
I remember the DIL:1 and DIL:N stuff on the 624 and the 1232, but it seems to be different in the 824.
Thanks again for your replies.

No doubt it has to be DIL otherwise Multiple ring with everybody having MB will confuse a system which MB should it sends call into and chooses not to do it at all. DIL will send all your calls or one Line to DIL extension's MB.

Bob, Bottom line... the 824 is a very solid, but very basic phone system. It's not going to give you many complex options or abilities. That's why a thorough evaluation of a client's needs is necessary before you decide what to sell them. A TDA50 will do all that you want and more. If you're not certified, then a TAW848 will give a whole lot more flexibility and is much more feature rich.

If multiple ringing is needed. Trunk service might work, answer with a silent greeting and roll to voice mail box for the line.
