Any dealers updated your TDE or NCP to v3 or v2 and tried using the onboard svm for music on hold? I'm going to give it a try, and if it works well....bye bye Mr.OHP. It looks like you can have up to 8 minutes of record time, and different messages for different tennant services.

I am not sure on the tde or ncp, but on the tda with the esvm card installed, upgrading the software to v5 will not will not give you on board moh, you need the CPU board that came out with the v5 on it. I have a v1 NCP that I upgraded to v2, must see if it works

I got it working today. It seems to be good. The one problem I had was an impedence mismatch from the audio out of my pc to the moh port on the ncp. Feature manual p.183-184, and Operators Manual p.162 explain the setup. The svm must be disabled, and the msg enabled on the mpr card.

That's good to know. Pity you lose svm though, I have a lot of them using that as night mailbox

It may not be cost effective, but you could have a second esvm and one could be used as msg and the other could be svm. The cool part to me is the ability to assign different messages/music on a tennant basis so sales could have different moh than service or different business' sharing one system. I find it hard not to use tva 50 with email notification even for a few mailboxes as opposed to svm.

each extra esvm card only gives you extra time not extra channels, so does that affect the mailboxs being used?

Good question. I've never used the mailboxes on the svm, but in programming under 1.1 Config/slot/ipcmpr svm property, this is where you enable or disable the msg or svm ability on a per card basis, so I would think each could work independent of each other. I haven't tried it yet though....

94astro, as a test I loaded a song from my playlist in itunes direct from my pc to the moh port on the ncp. It required a transformer between the pc and the moh port to get the correct impedence.

I finally upgraded a test NCP in our office and uploaded a wav file to it and it worked, an mp3 did not. It was pretty easy. I told a customer that I recently upgraded their TDE100 to a v3 about this and he's been wanting it. Thanks for the manual pages.
