We have a customer who is having a TD816-4 with TD193 Caller ID card installed, they have a bunch of T7431 single line display sets, and my question is how can they toggle the incoming Caller ID from the defaulted name to number? I remember that they can either press * or # to toggle it, not sure, but do they have to have to press that key during it is ringing (on-hook)? Or can they do the same thing after answering the call (off-hook)? Just can’t remember, can anyone shed some light on this one? Thanks in advanced!

Yes, you press the * key while the call is ringing to toggle between name and number.

Thanks Ed! What about the call is answered? Still pressing * to toggle it? Thanks!

I don't believe that you can do this after the call is answered because the * key becomes an active DTMF key once the phone is off-hook.

Thanks again! But is there any other way to toggle the display after answering (using T7431)? Thanks a lot again!

More than likely no. But try Shift or Mode button.
