I have a TDA100 here and I forgot how to do this... by default whenever we pickup the phone it defaults to CO6 first... then CO5, CO4, etc...

How do i change this order so it goes to CO1, then CO2, etc... without actually changing my physical lines... id rather change the system to pick CO1 first then CO2 if CO1 is in use, etc...

Not a good idea. Likely to induce Glare, IE you dial 9 or idle off hook and answer an incoming call without knowing it.

Yes they are. Well I don't want to FORCE it to always take the line... basically when we hit 9 (or pickup the phone) it always picks CO6 first. If thats busy it goes to CO5, if thats busy CO4, etc...

Id rather just reverse this. I want all my calls going out over CO1 first then CO2, then CO3 if the others are unavailable... Basically our main phone # is CO1 but everytime we make an outgoing call, it always grabs CO6 first... rather then swap the actual lines themselves so our main # is CO6, i figured gotta be a way to tell panasonic to always pick CO1 first, then CO2, etc...

Change the trunk group from high to low to low to high and it will pick up co 1-8 if co 1-8 are in the same trunk group

Adam, you REALLY need to read and understand brokeda's post!

Glare = pick up line one just as call comes in before the 1st ring, dial into customer's ear, don't hear dialed number start to ring, hang up on (by now) unhappy customer, that now becomes X-CUSTOMER! Also called "Call Crashing".

What is your reasoning for hunting free line outbound 1, 2, 3, etc, rather than 6, 5, 4, etc? Let me guess, people are using their caller ID to call you back, rather than the number you are leaving in their VM. If you are concerned about people calling the last 2 or 3 lines and getting a busy signal, have the telephone company change your 'terminal hunt group' into a 'circular hunt group'. That way, it will not matter what number is dialed in your hunt group, the call WILL use the next number in the 'circle' that is not in use.

Yeah exactly. I want people to see our main number first all the time. And thats the problem we have, they dial back on line CO6 or CO5 and if we're on that, it is busy. Since only our main number has the programming setup with telephone company to hunt. The other numbers are just IN that group.

I know what brokeda is saying, its never really been an issue with us as the phones are not ringing 24/7 really, it was more of a "i wish it went to CO1 first" thing thats bugged me and the "people call us on CO6 instead of our main #"

Well, then get that changed, Get circular hunt or have all lines transmit main number, not a big deal. Just a phone call to the Telco.
As for it not being an issue, of course not, you are not now automatically picking up lines low to high.
Make the change you are talking about and you will answer incoming calls and dial over them without knowing it, no matter how much you hammer employees to Pick up phone, listen to make sure you have a dial tone, then dial. That will work about 2 or 3 hours. You asked for a professional opinion, you got it. Take it for what it's worth.
No one in this business would do the low to high
outgoing unless incoming was high to low.

Umm actually as much as I appreciate the input, i didnt actually ask for an opinion. I asked how to change the order... i didnt ask "is this a good idea" or "what are your thoughts on this" i asked how to do it.

As I said, the help is apprecaited but i did ask how to change an order and only OBT and kxtvet actually touched on what i was asking, they didn't start putting their own input into the matter, they answered my question. But as i said i do thank you for your opinions, they do make sense, but would have appreciated that in maybe a private message or another thread. Im sure others may have a question on how to change the order as well, for whatever reasons they may want them for.
