We have a TDA100 and (i think) its a TVA50, im pretty sure its the 50.

Anyway we have voicemais forwarding to email addresses when they are left and it works nicely, as we can get voicemails on our cell phones now (via email)... problem is, 1/30 times a voicemail is left, it never makes it to the email box... which isnt normally a problem but we have an emergency support line setup and sometimes i do not get those emails.

Now the way we do it is... when a vmail is left the phone system calls me automatically to tell me theres a vmail (and i always IGNORE it, as i know the line its calling is always used by the vmail system), it emails me the message and it emails my cell phone (as a txt message). Sometimes i don't get the txt/email but i always get the phone call (like this morning, got woken up to the cell ringing, let it keep ringing, but i never got a txt or email).

Anybody ever see this happen where emails sometimes just don't make it out of the voicemail box?

No guesssing to it... Go into REPORTS in the TVA Maint.Console, then the drop down menu, then email notification, and it will show every time the TVS has sent an email.

to bad a trace can not be done on a sms or emails to
your phone...curious are you a nextel/sprint customer by any chance?

No AT&T (iPhone in particular) - its the main reason i changed to an iPhone from my Treo, initially to get the wav files to play since they didnt play on my treo (the iPhone is a lot better though now that i have it of course).

I'll check the reporting area in the TVA. As it did it again this morning. It called me, but the txt/email never made it through.

No because when i don't get them via txt i also don't get them via email... i looked and it seems that ever since i added a 4th email to the email list, it didnt email anybody... i believe i had this issue once before where it would only email 3 people... so i just created a distribution list on my email server and put the single email in voicemail system, this should fix my problem.

the reports showed no record of emails going out.

The latest version of TVA software allows to change Codecs for different mailboxes. Default is
IMA ADPCM 8KHZ 4 BIT
New choices are PCM 8 KHZ 16 bit ( for cell phones).
and IMA ADPCM 16 - 64 KHZ 4 bit (16,24,32,40,48,56,64
KHZ)
Also some email servers can't handle e mails from the TVA because of no date header. 2.61 addresses
this, Utility command allows you to add Date info in E Mail header.

I'll look into upgrading, we've had the same software for the past 2 years now.

For all who do this upgrade, it takes up to 30 minutes to boot after the upgrade.
They don't tell you this little tidbit in the instructions.
