I have a customer that was connected to the TVS-50, but the communication stopped while changing mailbox settings. Cable seems fine. Is there a way to reset the Tvs-50, without clearing existing settings?
Thanks, Eagle 77

What settings are you using on hyperterminal 9600,None,8,1 No Flow Control treminal typ VT 100 ?

Is the voicemail working and you can't connect, or is the voicemail down? Is the power light on the unit steady or flashing?

voicemail is working. Power light is on and steady. Hyperterminal says "connected" but nothing happens when you type a character
I just made a cable to try again. 2-3, 3-2, 5-5, 4-6, 6-4. Same problem, no communication.

This was working fine. Customer made many changes, and then it just stopped mid-stream. kxtvet- yes the settings are as you listed. I have a laptop I want to bring to test the VM, but it has Windows 7 and that system has no hyperterminal. Is there a procedure using windows 7 to access the VM. (no serial port either on this laptop)

for vista/win 7 download hyperterminal private edition and when you are at radio shack picking up the usb to serial adapter pick up the proper gender 9 to 9 pin cable and a 9 pin nullmodem adapter and I guarantee you will get it to communicate @ 9000,None,8,1 no flow control vt100 if this is a first run tvs 50 they were real squanky and if you didn't back out all the way to a > before disconnect you would have to reboot the voicemail....in order to get back in...!!

when you say reboot, do you just mean power down, power up? I don't have to change any switch settings?

yes if the com port locks up power down and wait 10 secs and power back up your voicemail you can watch your boot sequence of flash memory and memory test with Hyperterminal ....
"DON'T TOUCH THE SWITCH SETTINGS" :bang:
