Hi:
I have a KX-TA624 and I am trying to use a KX-TVS75 as an answering machine. Basically I just want one mailbox that can be accessed from any phone in the house. I followed the directions to create an extension group (200). I put two of the extensions there. I created a mail box 200. If I leave a message in the mailbox, the message waiting light will turn on in both extensions, however when I try to retrieve the message by pressing the message key the TVS75 says that the entry is incorrect as if the extension is calling the wrong mailbox. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

Carlos

If you dial in to the vm using the access code does it go to the mailbox or to the main menu

You use to have to turn on send #6ext no to voice mail in programming. will look it up

OBT: not sure what you mean by "access code". If I press the message key on the phone while the message waiting lamp is on, it goes into VM and it says "incorrect entry" and then it asks for a mailbox number.

From OBT

he means call voicemail ext 107 key in #6* and the mailbox in questions three digit number then password # are you able to get in to listen to messages that way if so then all you have is a light indication and you will have to retrieve them manually....

You can pgm a pf key (right side of 77xx)
(vm number)pause #6*(mailbox number)
add pause (password)# then password will only be required for remote log in'

Thanks for the replies.
Retrieving messages by going into VM #6 * MB number, etc. does work.

I guess, programming a key will work.

For general knowledge, should this work the way I thought it would, just by pressing the message key as it does with individual mailboxes?, or with a 624 and TVS75 the system does not know what mailbox the extension belongs to?

Thanks

I don't know what Panasonic system you guys are using, but a PF button can dial an outside line, or an intercom extension. There are no pauses or extra digits involved once a valid extension is dialed. So, 165 or 107 or 115 is the only digits the button will dial.

One Touch Dialing (prefix 2 )can dial ext, pause and other digits.
Used it all the time when TD first came out for VM retrieval with Amanda VM.
VM ext, #9#PP105#1234# First message plays
#6*105P1234# with Panny VM

used as a DSS key it will only take a valid ext.
