OK, I thought I could handle it but I am still having troubles.
I programmed one of the pf buttons in a 7736. Pressed program, pressed the pf button entered 115 pause #6. If I check the program I see 115P#6, however when I press INTERCOM and the pf button, it calls 115 and I get the VM system but the #6 is not dialed.

I also tried it with the functions in a 7896 with the same results.

What is the trick to getting all the characters to dial?

Thanks
Carlos

Enter 2115p#9*xxxpxxxx#

xxx is mailbox number

xxxx is password

this will take you direct to messages
There may be some old 624's that won't do this.

Brokeda:

Thanks for the suggestion. I assume you mean #6 not #9, #9 logs me off of VM. When you say that some old 624 won't do this, what are you referring to?, dialing all the sequence of numbers or using that particular sequence to get to the VM box? Manually I can get to the VM box by dialing 115 and then dialing #6 and *200, I just can't seem to get the programmed pf button to do it. I tried with and without the pause, same result dials 115 and then nothing else

Thanks
Carlos

did you put in the 2 first??
You may have to adjust timer for Pause or add more Pause's.
But if you made a message button for 200 all you would have to do is press intercom and then the lit Message button. Problem is when button is not lit up you must do it manually.

If this a TA-624 why don't you program a message button for mailbox 200 to a co key on that phone.
program
co key
95
200
I don't know if 200 will work you may have to change that mail box number to fall into the 101-124 scheme. You could use an unused extension number.

That's why I would put a pickup key because when you want to check messages for that mailbox and there is no new message and you want to review old messages, pushing the 200 message key wont work, it must be manual and lots of end users forget how.
Easier to hit two buttons and listen to messages.
If the Message group is set up properly the regular Message lights on all phones in the group will light
and Pressing ICM and the std message button will retrieve messages, then system will turn off all lights. Again if no new Messg present, review would be manual entry.

Good point brokeda especially the part about "end users forget how". He'll never be able to have individual mail boxes for these phones but that probably isn't an issue. My bad I missed that he already had an extension group set up. For what he is doing your right on.

I have not been able to make it work. I tested no pause, 2 pauses, tried a CO button, tried a pf button, tested a 7736, tested a 7030, with the message ligh on, without the message light on. It calls the 115 extension and then nothing.

I also tested something like "9pp phone number" and it calls out without a problem, however I noticed that after dialing the 9 the rest of the digits are silent, is there a way to make the whole dialing "sound" so that I can tell if the phone is dialing the rest of the digits "#6p*200" and the 624 or the tvs75 is not responding or if the phone just dials 115 and then stops ?

Thanks

Carlos
