Howdy howdy.....I too deal with Panasonics all the time. My problem is that the doorphone never seems to work with standard type phones; works OK with the system phones. When the doorphone causes a ring, It's difficult to talk to the person at door using a standard cordless phone. Is there something in the impedance of that doorphone mike/speaker?

I'm using a new panasonic expandable phone system as extension 12.

you are talking to a simplex speaker box with a cordless duplex standard phone and you wondering why it sounds lousy?

Yep.........don't know much about inner workings of speakers...electronic theory learned back in early 70's in the NAVY....speakers didn't have bulletproof kevlar back then. Fill me in...why doesn't it work as advertised and what cordless phone would work that's not a system phone? I hate the new panasonic joystick cordless...and so do all my customers ...absolutely loathe them..wish the old ones were made again!!

you could try a KX-TD7896

KX-TD7896 is the phone everyone hates. Little bitty buttons and little bitty display icons and terminology that my customers are in no mood to learn. The average homeowner doesn't need a manual to use a cordless phone.... thanks but bring back the old one without the lcd display or make the pots cordless phones work as advertised as standard phones...we have the technology...or do we?

ok I personally don't sell systems on the merits of how great cordless phones and doorboxes are.

I do however have both 1st generation cell stations and 1st generation portable stations kx-tda 7680 and 7690(that I use once a month maybe) and 3 1st generation door phones and I can hear the guy at the front door just fine on my portable stations.you realize if there is a load of background noise were you have these mounted you may never break squelch...

Well, people today , as you know, hate to be tied to a curly cord tied to a phone tied to the wall. Freedom rules and cordless seems to be made for the multitaskers which is about all of us today. I'll keep fiddling with different phones (standard ones) until I break squelch! thanks for all your help. Is that a toy phonecar or parade item or what? Looks like a true hybrid; maybe Obama Gm corp will start producing them if you give them a couple "D" batteries.

I plugged in a rat 46/49mhz cordless phone and did a test when my wife got here and we could hear each other perfect ??? what system are you testing on?

I was using a 2 line panasonic 5.8 Ghz kx tg6700
using line 2 port for the system extension and line 1 port for the dial tone (only had 1 line in the house). Maybe I should experiment with another cordless phone?
