Need help with older system. Problem: After recent electrical storm, one of 8 extensions (KXT7130 handset) will not connect to either of the two CO lines. When off-hook, the problem extension automatically connects to the intercom, followed by continuous beeps. The problem extension can call other extensions via the intercom. Programming 721# does NOT activate auto CO line pickup on the problem extension, although the message "auto CO hunt on" is displayed. The CO lines cannot be accessed by directly depressing the CO line buttons. Incoming calls on CO lines cannot be answered on the problem extension. If another phone is substituted on the problem extension, the results are the same. All other extensions work properly. Where might I start the troubleshooting? Thanks

sounds like hot line is set up on that extension, dialing a invalid code
try to dial 761# or station clear 79#

OBT, The problem extension is assigned hot line. I tried programming 761# and 79#, and it did not solve problem. Thanks for the suggestions.

Sorry 761# is to turn on, 760# is to turn off and 762, number # to enter number. you will have to start to dial 760# code the second you pick up the handset

Put phone into program using switch on the back of the phone. Push the CO key to make sure that the key is programmed for a CO. If not I think you push "0" then "1" for CO 1 and so on...

If the setis programmed as "hot line" I don't think you will be able to access co lines. try to remove "Hot Line".then reprogram the co lines, another set on the port acts the same so the problem is the port programming.

Check program 07 outward dialing assignment. Check program 11 Toll restriction. Something on this thread should fix your problem...
