I am replacing a "partner" system with a Kx-TA824. They are using an external paging system. I connected it to the paging port, and it works ok. They told me they were able to answer the paging from the warehouse hands free. Can the 824 page and also be able to receive audio back thru the paging port?
Also when paging a "group" of extensions, can they answer the page also hands free?
They were able to do this with the partner.

wow are you sure you want to do a 824 !There is no hands free paging answer back what so ever on any of the panasonic line !
The sales person mislead you if an ext is in intercom auto answer mode you can answer the intercom hands free but not in paging mode!
does the overhead paging system you have now have
talkback capability? If it does you should be able to connect the PA to a spare C.O line position instead of the paging port thats how most answer
back paging systems work!

If they have a Talkback speaker or amp you would need to use a co line or maybe a Tam B on a slt port.
Dial pickup code from any phone, during group or All Page, can be in speakerphone mode.
Mics are off during Group and All Page, so you need to go to a phone answer.
I don't think a Partner will do answer back on group page, but maybe you should ask that in the Avaya section.

Customer told me the guys at the counter, page the whse phones and the guys in the whse answer from wherever they are. I wonder if it is just through the mics on the phones back there, but you guys are saying there is no answer free from group paging either? Just intercom? Is there intercom grouping?

No group intercomm !No hands free paging not on the panasonic or the partner !
B I thought Y'all drank lone Shtar in Texas I did after being sober for six weeks at Lackland in San Antone !!
