It is a PagePac 20 from AT&T. The customer told me they answer back the page, but they don't know how it works. I don't know if the answer back is thru this unit, or through the mics on the phones.

I reused an Identical unit on a tda 100 install all that unit does is drive speakers like an amplifier no talkback if you don't want to buy a valcom or bogen or wheelock talkback unit and talkback speakers you have to put a dead short on the black -yellow on the jack in the backof the PP20(the partner gave a contact closure on a page to knock out music if there was music on the pp20 move it to the bgm/moh on the 824) and connect the green and red to the paging output of the 824 and you should be able to page thru the page pac 2o to the old speakers no talkback

I did a search on the product too. It seems if you add a "talkmate" to this product, it does talkback. I just don't know how to input that to the 824. I am not sure they have this "talkmate", but I think they must if they have the ability to answer the page

No, you don't hear me. The customer uses talkback, so the unit is probably there. When I was on site, I didn't know what to look for. It is probably mounted to the bottom of the PagePac unit. What I need to know, is how to interconnect that to the 824

I here you! I told you that the Panasonics paging port is not bi-directional you may be able to jump out the black yellow or use a A/A1 off hook device to trigger the pp20 connect the PP20/talkmate combo to a line port and it may work but thats a lot of maybes seeing that those devices were designed for the Partner. You may want to consider sticking with alarm systems because you are going to find the KX-TA 824 does not stand tall against the Partner

The Valcom variant of the PagePac has a 4-position slide switch on the face of it for provisioning it with various inputs. It can go Trunk side or station side. https://www.pagepac.com/pdfs/pagepal.pdf Maybe you have internal DIP switches. Carl

The PagePac unit specified above, is not recommended for talkback. If talkback is needed, with a page port that is not bi-directional, I would recommend a PagePac Controller ( https://www.pagepac.com/mall/pagepaccontroller.htm). This unit will connect to the available CO line. If talkback is not needed and the PagePac 20 is equipped with a MusicMate, you could inject your audio signal from the page port into this device.

I have used a KXT 7020 telephone, an ELK 800 amp and a speaker. Wire the speaker leads to the input of the amp. Hook spkr to amp. Turn auto answer light on. Acts like a loud speakerphone for less than a hundred bucks. you CANNOT use 7700 series phones. It works well!!
