I recently had a problem with an extension on a Kx-Ta824. I wanted to troubleshoot the problem, and the best way was to reassign the extension. I wanted to not use physical port 13, and assign port 16 to 113. Using 009 prog field, it would not allow me to assign 16 to 113. I understand you can't assign 2 ports to the same extension number, but then how do you do it? I tried to assign port 13 to extension 117 first, but it would not allow that either. (don't have an extension 117 on this system). I didn't see a way to reassign 2 ports at the same time. You had to hit store before leaving the field, and it will not take the change.
Thanks

you may not have a 117 on the system, but it is used in the number plan, change it to 100 or a number not in programming and then change them around. If you have the programming tool it is a lot easier to do, that will allow you to change both numbers then save it to the system

Clear as mud :-) What OBT is trying to tell you is that Panasonic extension numbers are still assigned in software, even if the hardware does not exist. So, in an 824, you can use the numbers 100 and 125+ for holders. In a TD system, it was worse, because the first 68 or so numbers were used in both the 100's and 200's. That's why 100 and 200 were used for extra numbers.
