Ripped out an old 616 and put in a tda50 recently in a house. They have an answering machine that is not on the system, direct to line 1.

On the 616, when a call went to the ans machine, they could barge in on the caller and the answer machine would stop recording and disconnect. Now when they barge in, the answering machine keeps recording and does not disconnect. Is there a setting or timer to make the answering machine disconnect once it's barged in on?

for that to work the answering machine should be in line with the system.

line in to answering machine, ext/phone out to tda co 1

If you you find that the machine does not have a ext out jack or it does and chows caller id info
order ten of these for your bag of trix works great for elevator phone that is shared with a line too!

Thanks again, they worked great. The only issue was that when the phones stop ringing and the person is leaving a message and you press the line button to pick up the call, it would mute your voice for 10 seconds. Fixed that by lowering the extension first digit timer to 1, but now when you press Intercom, you only have 1 second to dial anything. But since they have all of their intercoms on the dss buttons, they should be fine.
