I am trying configure a KXTD1232 that is already in use at a residence. Yes, this is an overkill but is already in use. It is configured to simply ring in all extensions whenever a call is received from outside line. All I need to do is to add voice mail.

I added the KXTVS75 and configured it. If I call #165 or #166 I hear the voice mail message.

I tried setting one extension to forward to #165 after 3 rings but it does not forward the call.

I also tried using the intercept feature, it intercepts but the VPS brings up a message for the caller to type the extension number. The user wants a simple voice mail to his house.

I do not know what I missed. Any help/hit would be welcome.

You must be using flexible ringing and your port service is set to auto attendant thats the default set them for custom service instead then i think in your case the mailbox 101 will capture all unanswered calls on intercept once you make that change! make sure trunk groups are set to do intercept to 165 and adjust intercept timer down from 12 rings....!if its a late model system give all exts that need to know voicemail has arrived a mwl-101 button

Like Shawn said with intercept you will have to set up custom service to get the call to a voicemail, if asking for enter ext then it is set as default aa system.

if you ring fwd phone internally, doed it go to voicemail

I configured to intercept to 165 and changed the timer to 4 rings. I also set the TVS75 for custom service. I do not have a mailbox 101.

The intercept, as expected, works and after four rings sends the user to voice mail prompt. However the prompt still asks the person who dialed for extension number.

you can set the custom service to go to a mailbox of your choice by setting the no dtmf to mailbox and record custom service to say thanks for calling........ please hold to leave a mesage and the no dtmf option will kick in and send it to a mailbox. you could give options like 1 or hold to leave a message

I'll take a stab based on how I have a TA1232 configured. If you have all extensions ringing from an outside call via your AA, then you must be calling a ring (extension) group, not an extension. If that is the case, you would set up a mailbox for that extension group. The TA1232 extension groups use extensions 191, 192... Like I said, I'm just guessing but that's how my configuration of the TA1232 works at one of my customers. Once the message is recorded in the extension group's mailbox, I move it to an extension's mailbox. Sorry if this doesn't apply to the TD1232.
