I have a dual cabinet KXTD 1232 with a TVS 120 voice mail. Up to this time they have not used any mail boxes and now they want them. When I call internally the system works fine getting to the mailbox on a no answer or busy. The problem is when calling from the outside, there is no response on a no answer and "not a valid extension" on a busy. The KXTD is about fifteen years old and previously uses a call express system. The cos and voice mail ID is programmed with just the extension number in the KXTD. Also, if I transfer a call from the outside the voice mail does pick up. Hope that's enough info.

There are only 6 loop start trunks which ring in to the auto attendant and most calls go to the various departments which are accessed by single
digit dialing. The repairmen have their own extensions and voicemail boxes and will get calls directly out of the auto attendant to them. Once again, if I answer a call out of the auto attendant I can transfer to the extension and it will go to their voice mail if not answered. The system before had a steering digit which was a 9. Do I have to add a steering digit like a pound sign in the KXTD? Thanks. JD

If using DPITS integration, you dont need any thing.
Are you connecting with single line ports?

I am connecting to single line ports. I'm thinking I may have to look at the recall timer in the KXTD because they did not want calls to go back to auto attendant. If I set a timer that should bring the call back to the auto attendant so it can get to the mailbox. Sound good? JD

If it's dash 1 or above use DPITS.
Save yourself a lot of headaches.
