We have a site with a dozen 7696 cordless phones. 3 of the phones will randomly turn off, even while in the charger. These same 3 phones will flash the charge lamp on the phone red , from the normal solid red, after several minutes of being seated in the charging cradle once you power them back on. I have already swapped out the batteries, even though only 3 months old. Switching charging cradles doesn't help either. The other cordless work fine. Anyone seen this? I wanted to be sure it wasn't something silly before sending them in for repair. Thank you.

This is a known issue with Pana, I've had it a few times. You probably have the older gray power supplies. The new black power supplies should resolve that.

These are the black power supplies, PN PQLV206. I even tried moving the phones to different cradles, problem seems to follow the phone.

Wow, never seen that problem with the black power supplies. If it follows the phone and you changed batteries then it must be faulty units.

Thanks 94. I'll send one unit into repair and see what they say. Will post the results. I find these phones bullet proof and always try to get clients to upgrade.

Yeah they're great. When my boss used to demo them he would throw them across the floor to prove their durability.

Just as a follow up, Panasonic confirmed that the chargers are the problem. Thanks again.
