My company is considering upgrading to the Panasonic KX-TDE series from our current KX-TDA100 system. We have 20+ KX-T7633 handsets and I am wondering how compatible they are with the newer KX-TDE PBX systems. Does anyone know?

They'll work 'til they croak, with the correct cards! smile

So if we took our existing TDA expansion cards and plugged them into a fresh TDE PBX that would work fine? Are there any "gotchas" to be aware of?

No gotchas be a good idea to upgrade the firmware on the cards ,what is your reason for the upgrade the TDE is just an enhanced version of the TDA unless you have a source for the system you will need a dealer to put it in and program it!!

That's good to know. I am considering the TDE system over the TDA because everything I've read so far has lead me to believe that the TDE system is more compatible with SIP VoIP Trunking. We are currently using multiple POTS lines for our phone service. I wouldn't want to recommend the TDA if it would prevent us from being able to move to SIP in the future.

yep get a TDE 200 or 600 Cabinet upgrade all the existing cards slam them into the cabinet add a large power supply and you would be in the cup and ready for prime time you get the right DSP for the TDE and licensing for sip trunking and you have a mean lean TDM and Sip Fighting machine!!
