I need 125 purple sheilded RJ45 with boots and sheilded jack assemblies at 10feet , does anyone know a manufacturer I can purchase the cable at, I can build these myself if so - problem is - I need them in 5 days. [email protected]

I know you are supposed to use shielded patch cable with T-1. What I don't understand is how the shielding is connected to the system ground at both ends. Since the modular connector is plastic, it can't carry the shielding to ground. By contrast, in a shielded serial cable, the connectors are generally metal, and the shielding metal foil or metal braid inside the cable is attached to the metal connector at each end.

Grim: There are mod plugs and jacks that are made for shielded applications, so the shield is grounded. Standard mod plugs and jacks with an all plastic body should not be used with shielded cable.

I am curious as to why you needed shielded cables, what was the application?
