First of all, a thank you for the prior assistance given me.
What kind of problems will I encounter by switching my V3.8 MPD (sb3.05) to the 386MPD (sb6.03)? Would I have to upgrade any of my other cards (COL,ELD,T1 etc)?
How would I transfer my configuration to the newer version?
Thank you for your assistance.

About the only way I know of is to load the new software into your PC/Laptop and then copy the program by hand to the new VER. The menu is a little different then the 3.8, unless SS knows of an easier way. It really doesn't take very long to do it.May I ask why you are upgrading? Is there a problem with the system. You will have to upgrade your card chips as well (like test-ok said)

I picked up a used system mostly as a spare unit. I also have the voice mail computer but I have not checked its version yet.
I know. If it ain't broke don't mess with it. It was just a passing thought. If it was as simple as swaping the two cards and programming I may have tackled it.
But I am thinking of going PRI this summer and dumping my Centrex. I had noticed that my current MPD version is not going to take PRI but the 6.03 would. (The reason for going to PRI, Centrex+DID line costs. $900 vs $650 for PRI)
How difficult is it to source and replace those chips on my cards? Any idea how much of a $$ hit for them? Also for the PRI card. Can I run both a T1 and a PRI card?
Again, thank you for your assistance.

First question is what system 818,128,400,1000? What system did the new VER. come out of and what is it going into. You may not be able to use it.

Man I miss out on this one. Thats what I get for going out and Working. I think its a great idea to up grade. Do you have the PCP (system program software) for both systems SB3 and SB6? As far as the chips take an look at the cards COL, ELD, SLD, OCD and whatever else (no need to do the MPD your changing it out anyway) and send me an email I will let you no what needs to be upgraded. Did you get the PRI card when you got the system? As far as the programming there are so many changes in the software from 3 to 6 you need to reprogram I can help you with this also.
