I have a 4 line fax server with Brooktrout DID/DTMF modems
Inbound to my Telrad (400 sw ver 8) I have 500 DID's via T-1's. I want to divert 200 # to the fax server without buying Telco DID/analog lines.
Looking for suggestions. I currently have the 4 ports connected via ONS card, and using system speed dials to pass DTMF to the modems, but with only 50% reliability.
Can I get the Telrad to wink the DID modems ? Or another idea I may not hae thought of

I would check on how many dtmf receivers you have in the switch. The 400 only come with one and the ons has only 2. If you have alot of traffic through you switch (such as networking and did's) alot of calls will fail and be routed to the attendant. Dtmf modules are avalible. Also I think you might have problems with the voicemail, You need to be 7.04 on the I magen or better to work properly with version 8.

Sorry But I think tony missed the point.
I need to pass DID/DTMF info TO my fax server, so it knows what user to deliver the fax to.
My fax server will accept a DID line, or DTMF routing of faxes. I really want the Telrad to provide DID/Wink to the the Fax server since that is 100% reliable.
Else I will have to have all 200 DIDs routed to system speed dials that dial the fax server in a hunt group, then DTMF the faxbox to deliver to ( based on a , 2 second delay which doesnt always work)
I can order 4 DID lines from my local telco and port my 200 numbers to it, but that seems like a waste of money.
Another way to describe this. If I had a DID card in a Telrad 128 and needed to connect it to a 400 to pass extensions how would I do it (in a DID/Wink) kinda way.
I do understand that in general I will need more DTMF receivers in my switch to process calls and I already do have (on each ONS, and on MIM)

I think I see. In did routings your sending to a speedial bin witch dial's your ons starion hunt group. With a delay of, then the did number.
Let's say your ons station are nuber as followed: port 1: 290 (as dn) port 2: 291 port 3: 292 port 4: 293 Then you have a hunt group set up as say 690 (for fax sever)with 290,291,292,293 in the group. Then lets say, your did number 4201 should go to the fax sever. In did routings you send 4201 to s1:400 for day and night Then in speedial bin 400 you have 690,,4201.
Is that the way you have it now?

Yes thats a good description of the config today. But the timing on the DTMF for the 4201 is the problem.
The faxmodems are DID capable, and I dont have to use speeddial's If I can get the telrad to produce DID info (Wink)
