I would like to program our main console to be able to press a button that would connect to an employee on an outside phone line. When I press the button, I would like it to work just like it would if that person were in the office and I were pressing that person's extension. Is this possible with the Telrad system?

You can program the key as a speeddial button for the outside location. Or you can forward a ext to a external location and use a DSS key

DMF,

You can program an MDN number to use as external forwarding. It's not hard to do, you just need release 7 or higher to do it.

NOTE: You may experience some lines getting hung up once each call is complete unless you have the correct timers set.

I don't know what an MDN line. But, if we installed Release 7 or even if we didn't, is it possible to call an extension that is forwarded to an external number and have our receptionist still annouce the caller?

Yes you can forward a ext external from release 7. The upgrade issue has to do with the system and voicemail being the same software for features to work correctly.
Do you do the system programming?
